How Much Money Does a Cruise Ship Captain Make

So how much money does a cruise ship captain make? The captain is the highest ranking official on the cruise ship. He’s responsible for the operation of the vessel, ship navigation and watching out for the ship’s crew. A good cruise ship captain must have a good understanding of the international maritime laws and the company’s policies. A previous experience of at least 5 years in a supplementary position is always required, as well as a degree from a certified maritime educational institution.
